The largest private shipping company in Southeast Asia, Singapore Pacific Shipping Co., Ltd., was recently approved by the Shanghai Municipal Commission of Commerce as the regional headquarters of multinational corporations and became a regional headquarters of another multinational corporation in Hongkou District. The addition of Pacific Shipping makes the North Bund Shipping Service Headquarters. The strength of the base is further consolidated.
             
       Pacific Shipping (China) Co., Ltd. was established in July 1995 by Singapore Pacific Shipping (Private) Co., Ltd., one of the top 20 liner companies in the world. In 2012, the company spent nearly 900 million yuan to purchase its office building in the China headquarters in the North Bund. With the joint efforts of various parties, it officially settled in this district in August this year.
        At present, Taiping Shipping (Private) Co., Ltd. mainly owns three major business segments including ship transportation, container manufacturing, and logistics. It has more than 150 container ships, ranking 14th in terms of global container shipping capacity and ranking second in container manufacturing.
